Here's a likeness study of Anthony Bourdain. I wanted to improve my capturing of likeness from observation alone so that was the direction I took with this piece. To begin I sculpted all of the primary and secondary forms in ZBrush by hand before using ZWrap to fit the 3dscanstore base meshes to my original sculpts. I then projected the 3dscanstore displacement maps to use as a base for the skin details, along with the albedo, and then sculpted custom tertiary details on top in ZBrush. I then used a combination of ZBrush, Substance & Photoshop to create the textures. I also sculpted the t-shirt by hand in ZBrush before retopologizing and unwrapping in Maya and then texturing using Substance. The hair was created in Maya using XGen and the watch was a free model taken from CGTrader that I then re-textured (https://www.cgtrader.com/free-3d-models/electronics/other/rolex-daytona-01bb59d7-ee9b-4a73-9bf2-188b280bf127).
I then rendered out from Marmoset Toolbag 4 using realtime raytracing.
